#15 Library 2.0

In my humble opinion the last 10 years have seen a technological ‘revolution’ for libraries not only in the services provided but also in their collection policies, as clients become more technologically ‘savvy’. Keeping pace with client needs and expectations as well as dealing with [in some cases] less staff and longer opening hours has stretched and challenged library resources.

At MPL it is evident that the Shire appreciates and backs up the ‘Award’ winning level of customer service that the 5 branch libraries provide to clients on the Peninsula.

Management continue their forward planning and are in the process of fulfilling a popular ‘ECO’ project – to ensure each branch is addressing and exceeding the technological needs of both staff and clients. To be implemented in due course will be PCs + games + software for all ages from young children to primary to college to Uni to recreation AND including all ages.

I say – "Here’s to access to knowledge to empower EVERYONE".
